Emotion Regulation Program

Counselling and Treatment

Program Description

This 8 week (8 -2 hr sessions) program offers an opportunity for clients to address emotional deregulation that can result in dysfunctional anger episodes. Utilizing the therapeutic modality of Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT), clients learn about their irrational thoughts that lead to dysfunctional consequences (anger episodes). More specifically, clients actively engage in techniques to identify trends in their thinking process and the correlation to their negative behaviours. Throughout the program, they are introduced and actively practice alternative thinking patterns that lead to better outcomes. The overall goal is to provide participants alternative techniques (assertiveness) to engrained patterns of thoughts and behaviour that have impacted themselves and others negatively.
