Early Intervention in Psychosis Program

Early Intervention

Program Description

This specialized outpatient program service provides consultation and comprehensive assessments for individuals who are suffering from psychosis as well as concurrent addiction issues. We deliver individual- and group-based therapies for both patients and their families. The interdisciplinary team consisting of an addictions counsellor, social worker, nurse, occupational therapist and psychiatrist will assist in establishing both short and long term goals for both the individual and family e.g. support, housing, managing finances, vocational, bridge to appropriate community resources etc. The intensity of the treatment is "recovery-oriented" and is guided by the individual's needs, the family's needs and the stage of illness. This program will be delivered in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association, and the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario.
