In-School Mental Health Counselling

Counselling and Treatment - Mental Health

Program Description

This counselling program provides:
- focus on early intervention/prevention
- student support with school-based issues like anxiety, depression,
- emotional regulation, problems with friendship, self-esteem, etc.
- crisis intervention with students who are active in service
- liaise with community services
- teach students coping strategies to assist in stress management and stress prevention
- education/resources for staff to support individual student wellbeing

Access Information

Referrals are accepted from all sources including:
- school staff (teachers, principal, SERTs)
- parents, caregivers, legal guardians
- children over 12 can self-refer

Referrals can be made through school staff, or by calling the Mental Health Lead directly. An online referral form is available.
