Mother's Opioid Dependence Enriched Life Program (MODEL)

Type of Service

Case Management - Substance Abuse

Program Description

MODEL is a new community-based addictions outreach treatment program for women. Services are based on a harm reduction approach that recognizes abstinence to reducing substance use as success and are responsive to the relapsing nature of addictions. This program provides practical help and supports women in a respectful, flexible, and culturally appropriate manner to meet their individual needs. Women who are concerned about their substance use and are worried about how it is affecting them, including issues such as hepatitis C and/or HIV, their family, and/or their children can access this service. Social workers are part of the hospital integrated social work service and will accept referrals during daily rounds.
