Program Description

Brief therapeutic practices as well as long-term counselling for a wide range of issues including: mood disorders, depression, bipolar disorders, eating disorders, grief and loss, stress, gender issues and physical and sexual abuse. Treatment groups are offered for anxiety and mood disorders. Social workers are part of the hospital integrated social work service and will accept referrals during daily rounds.

Access Information

Service is available to residents of Kenora aged 16 and over. Wait times vary and depend on urgency of need. Referrals are accepted from any source. Access is through one intake point for community mental health and addictions programs. Self-referrals by phone or in person are welcome. Telephone counselling can be provided if necessary. May be able to assist with transportation.
