Bayview Program for Dual Diagnosis

Type of Service

Program Description

The Bayview Program for Dual Diagnosis is a client-centered specialty care program. We are a 15-bed inpatient unit that offers psychiatric assessment and treatment to individuals with a developmental disability and a mental health problem. We offer a continuum of multidisciplinary team services, including: referral, consultation, inpatient assessment, treatment/stabilization, transitioning, education and community follow up. To meet the complex needs of the developmentally delayed population, we encourage and consider the involvement and cooperation of family, caregivers and physicians as essential in providing a supportive network for the client. The Community Support Team acts as a liaison between the inpatient program and the community. Model of service is bio-psychosocial.
