Program Description

The Court Diversion program provides services to meet the needs of individuals with a mental health condition and/or dual diagnosis who are in conflict with the criminal justice system. The program links clients with both short and long term supports; case management services; and mental health information to family and others. This program also provides education regarding client issues, mental illness and mental health services; OCAN assessments, consultation and advice to the courts. This program provides progress reports to the court and consultation for those not accepted for diversion. The program provides general support throughout the court process. Model of service is psychosocial rehabilitation.

Access Information

Court Diversion workers are available in the courts or at the office. There is no waiting list and a worker is available to meet with clients usually within a 72 hour period if not immediately. Referrals can be made by, the individual themselves, family, medical system, social system and judicial system.
