Program Description

The Crisis Intervention program is offered on-site at the West Nipissing General Hospital to individuals experiencing a crisis. The program includes assessment, short term counselling, and referral to appropriate resources as required.

Access Information

If an individual is suicidal or homicidal, 911 should be called. For individuals residing in West Nipissing, services can be accessed by calling or in person by presenting at the West Nipissing General Hospital information desk. Nipissing Crisis Intervention Services (North Bay) are available after hours from 2300-1600. The West Nipissing Crisis Intervention Program works in collaboration with the local mental health and substance abuse programs at the Alliance Centre.

Individuals can ask to speak to a crisis worker in person by going to the emergency department at the West Nipissing General Hospital. Outside of these hours, individuals are asked to call Nipissing Crisis Intervention Services in North Bay at 705-495-8148 or 800-352-1141.
