Program Description

The One-On-One Peer Support Program provides one-to-one support for individuals living with a mental health challenge, or supporting somebody else who lives with a mental health challenge. This program aims to support individuals who are interested in receiving support and working on an area of difficulty they are currently coping with.

Trained MDAO staff and volunteers offer Peer Support within the One-One Peer Support Program. These individuals have received MDAO Peer Support Training, completed their WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) Program, have extensive previous experience in providing peer support in both groups and on an individual basis, and are offered continuous training and supervision from the Peer Support Program Coordinator.

Program Logistics:
- Appointments last approximately 45 minutes
- First Name, Last Name and Date Of Birth must be shared in order to register
- Confidentiality is upheld at all times within the Peer Support Program
- Able to engage and disengage in the program as you wish
- Appointments can be held in-person, via phone or via video conferencing
- Opportunities to speak with different supporters should you choose
