Program Description

The Outpatient Mental Health Clinic is community-based offering services to assist individuals overcome problems, cope with mental health signs and symptoms, improve their well-being, learn to stay well and enhance their quality of life. Outpatient psychiatric consultation, assessment and short-term treatment will be provided to individuals from the age of 18 through to the psycho-geriatric population. A treatment plan will be developed which may include: psychiatric treatment, individual counselling, group counselling (skills-based and supportive), mental health education, consultation with family physician, and referral to a community organization. Services offered include: general psychiatry, medication clinics, psychotic disorders, mood and anxiety disorders including CBT and psychological testing.

Access Information

Physician referral is required for access to the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic. Emergency Services are not offered and service for walk-ins is not provided. We do not handle requests for assessments/treatment for court proceedings, child custody/parenting capacity, divorce, or insurance claims. We are not able to provide ongoing psychiatric care for individuals whose primary problems are: sexual trauma, sexual offences, eating disorders, chronic pain disorders, acquired brain injury, criminality, and developmental delay/disorder.
